Abstract: 

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is one of the most successful techniques of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) and is mostly in use for the treatment of infertility with male factors. In this method, before injecting sperm into the intracytoplasmic of the oocyte, cumulus cells around the oocyte must be stripped to facilitate the injection process. To achieve this, both enzymatic and mechanical methods are used in embryological laboratories for denudation, which has major deficiencies, including the possibility of damaging the oocyte prior to the injection process. In this research, a microfluidic-based device is introduced for the separation of cumulus cells around the oocyte with minimum manual operations. The results prove high efficiency, and non-destructive denudation of the oocyte with the reduced amount of culture medium leads to the low-cost preparation process of oocytes. The process can also be integrated with ICSI chips under development and will be reported shortly.

Abstract: 

In this paper, recommended spiral passive micromixer was Designed and simulated. spiral Design has the potential to create and strengthen the centrifugal force and the secondary flow. A series of simulations were carried out to evaluate the effects of channel width, channel depth, the gap between loops, and flowrate on the micromixer performance. These features impact the contact area of the two fluids and ultimately lead to an increment in the quality of the mixture. In this study, for the flow rate of 25 μl/min and molecular diffusion coefficient of 1×10-10 m2/s, mixing efficiency of more than 90% is achieved after 30 (approximately one-third of the total channel length). Finally, the optimized Design fabricated using proposed 3D printing method.

Abstract: 

A sun tracker system, consists of two parts (opto-electronic and hydraulic), has been Designed and fabricated to be used in solar thermal power plant. In this paper various parts of the system including optical sensors, electronic circuits, computational control and mechanical lever have been explained and the operational mechanism of each one is discussed. The parabolic mirror used in this plant has 400 cm length, 570 cm width and 170 cm focal length. Rays falling parallel to the axis of mirror are reflected and collected at the focal point, while unparallel rays are diverted. To determine the rate of divergence, a three – dimensional equation of radiation path is written. Using a computational program in "C" language the error is calculated from "0" to "0.5" degree, for modifying the operational error of the optical system. The optical sensors detect the beam deviation from the mirror,s principal axis with a precision of 0.1 degree and transfer the necessary corrections to the active mechanical system of the hydraulic type. A three phase electromotor of 0.7 kW power and one thousand revolutions per minute controls the mirror movement.

Abstract: 

In this paper, a novel transducer called Magnetostrictive Torsional Resonant Transducer (MTRT) is introduced. The transducer is composed of a magnetostrictive horn, a stainless steel backing and housing. In this transducer a spiral magnetic field, made up of longitudinal and circumferential components, is applied to the magnetostrictive horn. As a result, the magnetostrictive horn oscillates torsionally according to the Wiedemann effect. The magnetostrictive horn is made of "2V perrnendur", which has isotropic magnetic properties. The differential equations of the torsional vibration of the transducer are derived, and the transducer is Designed for a resonant frequency of 12075 Hz. Natural frequency and mode shape of the transducer are considered theoretically, numerically, and experimentally. The effects of important parameters such as axial and circumferential magnetic fields, and torsional prestress on the torsional displacement of the MTRT are considered, and the optimum working point is determined. These are promising features for industrial applications.

Abstract: 

iIn this article, the consideration of Design and manufacturing method of laser base under water digital communication system for transformation of every kind of data (video, image, sound, text) is presented. By studying the effects of transmission channel (water) on the propagation properties of laser, 532 nm has been chosen as laser source wavelength. Then, the transmitter and receiver systems are discussed. Each of these systems includes two main parts: software and hardware. In software parts, to control transmission, receiption and processing of the every kind of data, essential codes have been written in MATLAB software for serial port. In hardware parts, computer and laser TTL modulation circuit in transmitter and detector circuit and computer in receiver are related by USB to serial converter FTDI chip. Finally, the field test shows that this system is able to best communicate (every kind of data) in 100 m link length by 3 Mb/s rate.

Abstract: 

In this paper, the quasi-static test and the damage of the thin-walled composite cylinder were numerically simulated using ABAQUS. Then, a comparison was made between the results of this simulation and those obtained from experimental studies followed by their validation. In the next step, several parameters affecting the energy absorption rate including outer diameter-to-cylinder height ratio, thickness-to-outer diameter ratio, and angle of damage initiation mechanism were selected. They were optimized by modelling different states in ABAQUS. The number of tests is reduced by the Design of experiments using response surface methodology and the optimal specimen is extracted by this software. Finally, optimum adsorbent is fabricated and tested. Considering enhanced energy absorption, increased mean reaction force, and reduced initial maximum force, the optimal Design parameters include the inner diameter-to-cylinder height ratio of 0. 2, thickness-to-inner diameter ratio of 0. 1, and angle of damage initiation mechanism of 45° .

Abstract: 

In this paper, TEM horn antennas are reviewed as an ultra wideband antenna and then analyzed theoretically. The far zone fields, radiation patterns, directivity, and bandwidth of these antennas are determined. Also, the characteristic impedance and input reflection coefficient of these antennas are determined using the taperd transmission lines model. Then some relations are introduced to optimum Design of these antennas. Finally, two TEM horn antennas are Designed and then are simulated, fabricated, and measured in an experiment.
